Archives For spirit awareness
Souls without a body, such as your deceased loved ones, angels and other spiritual entities, have the ability to interact with you in the nonphysical plane. They represent one of the categories of soul agreements and are often the most tricky to identify. Some of these soul agreements with the spirit realm are created at your request; others are consequences of exposure to a spiritual entity under certain circumstances.
Helpful agreements are those created in response to your souls request, they either benefit you by providing protection, controlling your response or blocking experiences that are unwanted. Hindering soul agreements are initiated either through a trauma experience, taken on to help another person heal or from energetic boundaries becoming permeable while using mind altering substances.
There are a few types of souls without bodies:
- Angels/Guides – spiritual helpers who assist you upon request, they may help many people simultaneously and don’t attach in the way that Spiritual Entities do (invitation only)
- Ancestors – Deceased loved ones, in spirit form, who communicate and assist but don’t attach
- Spiritual Entities – attach themselves to you to do a job, or they get into your space in one of the hindering ways I mentioned above
You can have agreements with all of them but the ones that most often require intervention through agreement updates are spiritual entities. Here’s an example of how a soul agreement with a spiritual entity is formed.
Around the age of three to five years, the responses you receive to showing your will or power teach you how much power you are allowed to have and how you are allowed to express what you want. If you experience a negative response to your power from someone you care about, you may call in a spiritual entity to help you control your expression of power. This experience is accompanied by a mental belief that your power can create disapproval or punishment. And by altered behaviors, that stop you from doing what comes naturally.
As an adult you recognize this pattern and choose to reclaim your power. You change your beliefs and behaviors. Yet you still find that the people don’t see what you are capable of. They don’t see or acknowledge your power because the spiritual entity is protecting you from possible disapproval that would come from showing your full power. You have an outdated soul agreement, blocking you from being seen for who you are.
Agreements with spiritual entities can also be created by and inherited from your parents or grandparents. These are passed down to keep you from experiencing a negative experience they experienced or as part of a family disease soul contract such as addiction or suicide.
Some negative spiritual entities are very strong and don’t like to leave. They are using your energy to their benefit. Those inherited from generations-old family agreements may be moved out, only to discover another similar spiritual entity shows up in its place. Multi-generational soul agreements need to be healed back to the point of their creation to prevent attracting in another similar vibration entity. (I’ll cover this in future posts on family agreements).
You have the senior position in all of your spiritual contracts, including those with souls that don’t have a body. You can tell them to leave, end your agreements or change their job. In some cases you may prefer to get assistance from a professional to end or update these agreements.
In the next two weeks I’ll cover your soul agreements with ancestors, diseased oved ones, angels and guides. Please comment with questions and share your experiences here or on my Facebook page.
The lens we perceive all experiences through is colored by our past experiences. Beyond what has occurred for the body, mind and heart, the experiences of the Soul carry a memory that subconsciously imprints our present life. Our Akashic record is the term for the spiritual history of our Soul. To find complete healing we must release unresolved energy from our past to make space for a new reality.
The Akashic records contain all of the details of past experiences, from this life and previous lifetimes, whether we remember them or not. We each have a spiritual helper whose job is to maintain that record. The challenge is that the history of our Soul contains every detail of our past experience, some which were left unresolved or caused wounds that we may have healed psychologically but not spiritually.
The energy of these past unresolved experiences continues to be in our space, magnetically attracting similar experiences. We see this most clearly when we become aware of a pattern in our lives, such as choosing an abusive relationship. We have done the psychological work to heal that pattern, changed our behaviors that are associated with it, yet still find it showing up in our lives. Pretty frustrating!
Our Akashic record is a journal of our Soul’s experiences, from a neutral perspective, no judgment, simply a historical record. When we make choices in this life that lead to our healing we are creating the opportunity to change our experiences going forward. We release beliefs, patterns and wounds from the past and experience a new reality. In order to have complete healing, we have to address the Soul level as well as the mind, body and heart.
In the psychic realm we can look at the unresolved experiences from our past and communicate with the spirit keeper of the Akashic records to update them. If we ask, our Akashic record keeper will help us by maintaining the memory of the past experience that was unresolved while releasing the charge on the energy that is magnetically drawing matching experiences in from the universe.
Using our intuitive awareness we have the opportunity to see and clear past wounds for ourselves, releasing the vibration that is drawing in experiences we don’t want to repeat. Sometimes we are too close to clearly see our own wounds, or we can see them and don’t have the neutrality to heal them. It’s in these moments that we ask for outside assistance. Having a trusted teacher or healer see on our behalf and hold space for the shifting of energy.
The past is a fun place to explore when we can see the full-spectrum of experiences as part of what has made us who we are today. Past experiences mold our perspective and vision in the present. To reclaim our power to experience the life we want, we have to release ourselves from the unconscious grip of past wounds and belief systems that were based on a limited perspective. Working with our Akashic record keeper opens the door to a facet of healing that allows complete integration of our body, mind, heart and Soul’s experiences in the now.
Animals are more than companions, they are teachers and healers. Animals live in the present. They don’t worry about the past or the future. In their presence, our pets are tuned-in to the vibration of the moment and can give us clues about the energy of an experience if we pay attention to their signals. They sense the vibration of those around them and respond accordingly.
When I’m in session with a client and a potent spiritual energy is being moved out of the space, my dog will become interested and put his body between the two of us. He senses the presence of this other entity as it is detaching from the person who has been carrying it. He’s showing up to offer healing assistance and protection. On a simpler level, he’s checking out the other energy that just arrived in the space, as he would greet a person that came to the front door of the house.
Pet companions, especially cats and dogs, offer us insights into the energy of people in our lives. Is the person comfortable with themselves or fearful of connecting with others? Do they have a spiritual entity in their space that they are allowing to operate their body? Animals recognize it, and display uncharacteristic behavior such as avoidance of the person, overt dislike or blocking the person from approaching their owner. This is equally true for self-reflection, our animal companions change the way they respond to us when we are not being ourselves i.e. when we have some spiritual energy in our space that is altering our vibration.
Pets don’t have a ‘socially acceptable’ filter that prevents them from showing their authentic response to a person or another animal. They are tuned-in to energy and respond without hesitance by cowering, attack, cuddling or ignoring. They can draw our attention to something or someone being off.
As humans we’ve learned the healthy respect of others boundaries and consider behavioral appropriateness before we snuggle up to someone or tell them off. We are programmed to respond in a ways that deny acknowledgment of our true intuitive response to a person and the vibrations they are carrying. We use past experiences as a point of reference and overide what we feel in the present.
By observing our pets we can learn to be more present, intuitively tuning in to the energy as we engage in relationships. Our animals offer comfort and healing when they sense we are upset, angry, sad or in pain. They sleep beside us when we are physically sick or emotionally distraught. They play with us when we are joyful and invite us to play with them when we are too caught up in mundane tasks to smile. They always offer unconditional love. And they teach us to listen to our intuition by being tuned into the vibrations of all beings they encounter.
All Hallows Eve is creeping in with curiosity and playful energy about ghosts, zombies, paranormal and the dead in various forms. When people feel something tangible that they can’t see or touch it can be frightening and a thrill. As a person who is regularly aware of the presence of Spirits, I find it curious how often we make ghost or Spirits out to be scary tormented messengers of darkness. What we are reflecting with this perception is awareness that the Spirit is stuck, disturbed, unable to move on and find peace.
We all are Spirits with a physical body and when we die our Spirit continues to exist. What we call a ghost is the Spirit of a person, as it existed in a particular lifetime. Ghosts linger in a physical place often where the person once spent time while alive. Their Spirit was unable to complete some aspect of their experience from that life and remains stuck, revisiting the trauma or unfinished commitment.
On the night of the Zombie Crawl in Denver a couple of clients of mine went to a stately old hotel for a cocktail and struck up a conversation with the bartender about rumors of the hotel being haunted. They were given permission to wander the halls to see what they might find. With their perception tuned to the paranormal, they were open to seeing what wanted to be seen.
Suddenly in a certain hallway they both started feeling a heavy energy. One of the women felt as if she was being choked and couldn’t breathe. They decided they’d had enough and returned to the hotel lobby, shaken. Curious they asked a hotel employee if anything strange had ever happened in the room number they were next to when the sense of suffocation occurred. A young woman had hung herself in that room. Clearly the disturbance of her energy when she took her own life left her Spirit unresolved. Her ghost is still lingering in the place of her death waiting for a healing that will allow her soul to move on.
Similarly when I see a Spiritual entity in a person’s aura space often it is stuck and ready to move on. It has an agreement with the person created in the past that is no longer serving either. We create agreements with Spirits (some angels of light or darkness, some disincarnate human souls) when we need help with a life experience that we feel we can’t manage ourselves. They help us stay safe in certain circumstances but when we outgrow the circumstances they may stay stuck in our space, required to keep the agreement.
Another way we may be associated with a Being is through our family. Our ancestors create agreements with Spirits that get passed down through the generations to their descendants. These Spirits can be in our energy field subtly influencing what we attract into our lives or are attracted to, without us being aware of it.
There are also Spirits that get into our aura space without personal or familial invitation. We take them on as part of our healing agreement with another person, to help them clear the Entity. Or we participate in an activity that opens our energy field to them. These Spirits are looking for energy or healing, and enter our aura because we are open to it.
Spirits are everywhere. We don’t need to fear them because we are in a position of power. We always have the authority and choice to end agreements with Spirits and command that they leave our space. One way to do this is to visualize a gold cord attaching them to God/the Supreme Being so they can move on/out of our energy field and take their next step as a Spirit. By doing so we are setting both the Spirit and our spirit free.
Grief is more than the emotion that arises when someone we love dies. It surfaces when we experience an ending of any sort. A relationship with someone we love changes or comes to an end due to breakup or divorce. We physically move away from a community or change jobs. Something about our life doesn’t turn out how we thought it would.
As we explore our intuitive nature, empathy is the first place most of us experience a sense of reading another’s energy (2nd chakra). Empathy has us match energy with those we care for to energetically support them. When we feel the intuitive information in our body rather than “see” it in our clairvoyant space (6th chakra) we may have a hard time separating our emotions from that of the other. We take on the pain of another and actually have physical symptoms from it. By doing this we are less capable of providing the needed strength for our loved one. We can maintain connectedness without matching the energy of those around us. In doing so, we tune-in to our own emotions without carrying the burden of the collective grief.
When our heart is broken with grief, the pain may cause us to check-out or escape the feeling. At times we may be unconscious of it but notice that we’re scattered, having a hard time focusing or not feeling very present in our body. A practice of inquiry, when these sensations of distance between body and spirit occur, helps us realign. Asking our body what it feels and listening. Sometimes it requires activation of physical activity like walking, yoga or dancing to reconnect. Feeling pain isn’t easy but allows the energy to move through the natural cycle, providing relief.
The best thing we can do for ourselves when there is a loss in our lives is feel the grief while nurturing our physical body and staying connected with loved ones. If we commit to notice when we want to disassociate from our experience of pain, we can find a path to staying more present. This may be through meditation, physical movement that connects spirit to body or reaching out to a friend to talk. Then when we find ourselves taking on the pain of another we are prepared to breathe deeply, and take the imaginary elevator from our 2nd chakra up to the 6th via the heart to lend strength to those we love.
