Archives For creation energy
You are energy! You get to choose how to direct your energy. The focus of your energy creates and destroys based on your focus, all of the time.
Think of energy in the form of a waterfall. When a river drops over a cliff to lower ground, the water loses contact with earth and gains speed. Most of it stays together in a channel of energy moving in one direction. Some droplets of water separate into misty free-fall, no contact with the mass of the river. Bits of this mist will rejoin the main river. Others drops stay afloat on the wind to become a cloud, or they land on a leaf, rock, or dirt.
When your energy sticks together it gains power. Big shifts in your consciousness move like a waterfall carrying you with the momentum of a new belief. As your beliefs and focus shift, you create new experiences.
Like the mist, some parts of your energy can stay afloat while the majority of energy moves in a focused direction. The energy that lands in a new spot, changes form. It gives life to a plant. It is absorbed deep into the earth to join an underground aquifer, bubbling up to the surface somewhere new. Or may evaporate, to create a cloud that moves with the winds and falls as rain or snow back to the Earth. Far away from where it started. You water and grow new beliefs and experiences with your energy.
Water follows a path of least resistance. It gets to engage with the natural laws of gravity and the elements it encounters. Some surfaces are hard and resistant, while others are absorbent and receptive.
If your focus lands on a hard surface that is not receptive, it may feel like a lot of effort until you allow the response to redirect your energy to the flow. Re-direction is an opportunity to amplify your energy, moving in a direction that is receptive and true for you. Is the focus of your energy responding to the messages from the energy around you?. When your energy is aligned to your highest good, and not attached to changing what is not aligned in its path, it can shift to a new direction, amplify your power and keep you in the flow.
Stagnant water or energy allows dis-ease to grow. When you are stuck you are denying your power to choose. Even the belief that you do not have a choice is a choice. How much of what is possible are you allowing yourself to have?
Through your choices, you focus your energy. Your energy contributes to collective belief systems and creates reality for you and those who share it. Your focused energy is as powerful as a waterfall. Every drop of it is a choice. You create your life experiences with your beliefs and choices. You get to use your energy however you please. Energy is your Super Power!
The two critical energetic steps to manifesting a positive new experience are:
- A Solid Foundation
- Clear Creation Energy
Think of it this way: Foundation + Creation = Manifestation If the foundation isn’t in place or the creation energy is muddled your manifestations don’t last or aren’t as great as they could be.
A strong foundation means you are grounded so you are stable as the change shifts your center of gravity. When the good comes you want to be able to enjoy it. The root chakra at the base of your spine is your energetic foundation. It is where you hold the energies of survival, safety and security.
To establish or reinforce your foundation, follow this simple meditation:
Visualize your root chakra connected to the Earth by seeing a beam of light or tree trunk attached to the base of your spine extended down into the center of the Earth. Set your intentions that this new grounded foundation is “in present time” by thinking of today’s date. Claim that this foundation is only for you. You ground for YOU, no one else (unless you have young children, it is important to ground for them too).
With your solid foundation in place, move up in the energetic body to just below your belly button. This is your sacral chakra where you hold creation and sexual energies. Clear creation energy is free from past limitations and the influences of others in your life. It is important to clean out your creative energy space so you don’t repeat undesirable experiences.
To clean out your creation space imagine you are holding a helium balloon on a string. The balloon’s job is to collect up all the energies you are cleaning out of your sacral chakra. Imagine these energies move out of the area of your body just below your belly button, like a wisp or silver strand they move into the balloon filling it up.
Here are some energies you may want to move out of your creation space and into the balloon:
- Fear of failure
- Need to control the creation/outcome
- Other’s discomfort with your success, competition
- Belief that only a certain range of possibilities are available
- Grief from false starts, unfertilized seeds, miscarriages, unfulfilled dreams
- Possessiveness, someone’s energy keeping you to themselves or possessing you sexually
- Depression, hopelessness, discouragement
- Blame, shame, anger, jealousy
- Attachment to the form the creation needs to take
- Energy whacks/wounds from your past attempts to create or to your sexual energy
- Unworthiness, the lie that you don’t deserve to manifest or can’t because of x y z…
- Fear of success, resistance, suppression of your ability to have what you want
- Other’s attention on your creation. It doesn’t matter if it’s curiosity, poor boundaries or mal intent, move it out, it is in your way.
- Rigidity, feeling stuck, stagnancy
Now that you’ve cleaned ALL that unwanted energy out you may have a bouquet of balloons! Thank them for their assistance and let the strings go. Watch the balloons floating up into the sky, higher and higher until they disappear.
For extra credit, imagine filling your sacral chakra with energies you would like to experience in your creative space such as ease, inspiration, unlimited possibilities, sensuality or whatever you like.
With your solid foundation and vibrant creation space you are empowered for brilliant manifestation. I’ll dive into manifestation in my next blog post.
Remember: Foundation + Creation = Manifestation!
There is subtleness in how we wait for things in our lives. We imagine one thing needs to happen before the next can occur, believing life experiences naturally come in a certain order, so we wait. This needs to happen before that. We need to have a certain amount of money, a relationship, a certain type of job or children out of the house, to create our dream.
I have a picture of myself living in a home I’ve designed and built with a partner in the countryside. With creek that runs through it, trees, and of course a beautiful view that makes us take a deep breath every time we look out the window. I had been waiting for someone to co-create this vision with but waiting was attracting more waiting. I wasn’t creating my heart’s desire and it was impacting every day of my life.
Sometimes we are so close to our own view of the world that we can’t see where it’s holding us back. It hadn’t dawned on me that in waiting for a partner to have this life in the countryside I was denying myself happiness. I finally was able to see that I was waiting in a way that had me stuck and attracting more waiting.
I’ve felt the call for several years now to leave the city and live closer to nature. Having grown up in the country and a small town, I never really saw myself as a city person when I moved to Denver 23 years ago. I got used to it and even enjoy it a lot. Still I’ve always known that my proverbial cup is filled by being in nature and as it stands now it’s somewhere I have to go to rather than the place where live.
A story I’ve been telling myself and others for years, is that I want to live the summer months in Oregon on or near my family’s ranch, and be in Colorado for the rest of the year. The catch was that my “picture” of this life required a partner. I am single, and waiting for the partner who wanted this life and could have it had been blocking me from creating the life I really want.
Last week I asked management at my technology job if I could live and work from Oregon for 3-4 months this summer. He said, “No problem. I don’t care where you work from. You work from home as it is.” While I work from home, I travel a lot for that job and moving will impact the distance/cost of my travel for work. Having received this “Yes” I feel excited and surprised at the courage I see is needed to take this step.
As the reality of this creation set-in, I began to feel a new sense of freedom. I have stopped waiting for things to look a certain way and am creating what I want in my life. There’s not a story but a real experience I’m participating in.
The law of attraction is at work. Because I had been waiting rather than creating, I was attracting more opportunities to wait rather than create and felt stuck in past creations that were great but I’d outgrown. Now that I’ve said yes to creating this vision, synchronicities continue to show up to support it coming to fruition.
What are you waiting for? Start creating and see what shows up to support your creation!
Mystery is awesome. It contains the seed of life! The power of the unknown gifts us joyful surprise, anticipation and passion, if we allow it. Most often we contract in the face of the unknown. Our body tenses up for fear of being out of control, the uncertainties of no guaranteed outcome, the fear of disappointment. But if we relax into trust, our very being is able to flow with the mystery and we heighten our capacity to receive, our experience of excitement, celebration and noticing life’s miracles.
Every moment we are in the process of creation. We are creating our lives through our thoughts, actions and unconscious beliefs. To create with the most power we must surrender to the mystery, let go of the specific form our creation is required to take in order to please us. In our society outcomes are often forced to meet a specific agenda, scheduled, pre-selected in detail, like a travel itinerary. But when we allow room for the mystery, the outcome while unpredictable has more juice and life to it. Magic happens!
At the New Year most of us reflect on what we have accomplished in the past year and identify what we would like to experience in the coming year. How do we come to a strong inner-knowing that our intentions, the visions of what we want to create in our life, are coming to us?
To clear the path for this level of trust, I find myself navigating a cacophony of thoughts and feelings. Observing what is supporting or in the way of my freedom to receive. Where I am judging others and myself? Where I am giving away my power? Where I am withholding from myself or choosing fantasy over the truth of what is? Where I am failing to see the vastness of options before me because my sight is focused on what I lack rather than what I have? Where I am allowing the wants, needs and demands of others to override my wants, needs and self-care?
Where I am in avoidance of my feelings because noticing them doesn’t feel good? Where do I choose to check-out rather than check-in with myself? Where do I see not getting what my heart desires as some failure on my part? Where am I at peace and where am I unsettled? Where am I in resistance to things that are good for me? Where do I fail to surrender because I want it my way?!? Where do I feel angry at another or judge them without acknowledging my anger at myself and self-judgment? Where is it I crave escape and allow it to dominate my free time?
Where do I try and fail and try and succeed and keep pushing my edge to expand past the discomfort? Where do I have courage without noticing it and fearlessly press into the vast unknown? Where do I take risks and feel empowered? Where do I light a fire to transform energy, warm the hearth, or light the path? Where do I see the non-physical universe and witness another soul’s journey? Where do I connect with another? Where do I wake up and realize I was never sleeping? Where do I feel alive?
These questions are meant to shed away the layers between my expectations and the fruition of my desires. I trust that my visions will manifest in my life. Why? I have seen it happen countless times. I feel them coming. I feel the joy and it feels as if they are already the truth of my experience even though they haven’t yet taken physical form. I don’t know what form they will arrive in or when. That’s the mystery. Yet I trust their arrival, as reliable as the seasons change. The more I take actions to show the universe my intent, that I’m willing to receive with full surrender. The more my experiences are better than I ever would have imagined.
What would it take for you to feel satisfied with your life? Fulfilled, as if everything that was happening was as you desired? A different job, a new or changed relationship, different living arrangement, better health, more money, a vacation, closer friendships, less work, time to follow your creative passion? The aspects of our lives that we feel at peace with don’t have to be perfect, but flow with ease. We don’t dwell on them, because for the most part we are getting what we want.
The areas of our life that aren’t fulfilling our needs are what we struggle with and notice. They translate to the false belief that something outside of us needs to change in order for us to feel at peace. When we believe this, we are giving our power away. There is an energy drain precipitated by cycles of thought, feeling and behavior that reinforce staying unsatisfied.
I think of Homer Simpson holding onto the soda can he’s been trying to steal from a vending machine, while emergency workers go to great lengths to try to extract his arm. We hold onto a certain vision of what we need to feel satisfied in a job, lover, etc. When Homer finally realizes, he doesn’t want the soda bad enough to give up other things in his life, he let’s go of the can and pulls his arm out of the machine. He’d created his own experience of being stuck in the machine by holding on to something that wasn’t designed to be his, at least not without him being in alignment with the system that would allow it to be his.
Everything we experience is designed to show us where we are in alignment or not. If we are attached to specific circumstances we “must have” to feel happy, a deeper look inside our Self will reveal what is out of alignment in our life, the misalignment creating a sense of lack. Are we making a decision based on financial fear to work too much or at a job we don’t like which limits our time and energy to create in other areas? Are we using busyness or addictions as a form of avoidance, so we won’t have to address the relationships in our life that are uncomfortable? Are we blaming work or a relationship for our suffering and disappointment? As long as we hold on to the belief that our happiness is contingent upon someone or something changing we will be unfulfilled and not find inner-peace.
Try this simple meditation to assist in creating a sense of peace in an area where you feel dissatisfied.
- Begin in a simple silent meditation state (see my post a Meditative Path to Clarity).
- Visualize a bubble floating in front of you to represent the area in your life where you feel dissatisfied unfulfilled or stuck.
- See a rose outside of that bubble, like a magic wand, it is there to draw out any energy from that bubble that is negative or fear based.
- Watch as energies such as control, punishment, anger, anxiety, disappointment, fear, guilt, and shame move out of the bubble into the rose.
- Once the bubble is free of these blocks, send the rose to a faraway place in your mind’s eye and let it dissolve with the intention that it causes no harm.
- Now imaging a golden ball of light hovering above the bubble that represents the area of your focus for the mediation. Fill that ball of light with all of the positive vibrations (emotional energies) you would like to experience in this area of your life, such as: ease, grace, pleasure, fulfillment, joy, inspiration, flow, playfulness, support.
- When the golden ball of light is full of good vibrations drop it into your bubble and see them become one.
You have shifted the focus in this area of your life from disappointment and lack to ease and flow with your intentions. Our habits pull us quickly back into old thought patterns, so revisit this visualization as often as you find necessary.
Personally, I find it a very challenging practice to let go of certain desires happening in the timeframe that I want. But whenever I hold onto the yearning for a different experience than “what is” I am less satisfied with my life. This doesn’t mean that I give up on my hearts desires and dreams. What it does mean is that I acknowledge that what I am experiencing right now is exactly as it should be. As difficult as it may feel, I trust that what I am experiencing is the universe speaking to me, to show me how I can get into greater alignment with myself.
Recently I found myself resisting asking the universe for what I wanted. As if outside of my life looking in, I knew that taking time to get clear on what I really wanted would benefit me. It would help me be more present and stay aligned with my truth. While self-reflecting on my resistance, I realized my inner-judgment toward asking for what I want.
Why was I hesitating? My analytical mind argued, “What if what I think I want isn’t in my highest good?” Or it took the position that I shouldn’t be as specific in my request, leaving it more open to the divine plan. But by avoiding getting clear I was undermining my power to manifest and subsequently my inner-peace.
Another aspect of my resistance was fear that God would see me as greedy for wanting more than what was needed for survival. I also worried that my desires would somehow unconsciously impact others in a negative or manipulative way. Overshadowing all of these judgmental thoughts was my fear of being disappointed. It felt risky to get my hopes up by asking for what I wanted.
Part of me could see the fallacy in all of these beliefs. But they felt real due to my social and religious programming. They were unconsciously blocking me.
Once I recognized them as false beliefs, I spent time in meditation looking at myself to identify, heal and release them. I noticed that I felt the tension of these beliefs in my body just below the belly button in my second chakra, the creation energy zone. Taking action to free myself of these blocks to creation, I visualized a bubble outside of my body, like a salve, drawing out the energies of judgment, control, fear, disappointment and unworthiness. When the bubble was full of these outdated beliefs, I imagined it floating to a faraway mountain top and popping. The energy was released to be recycled in the universe. Practicing meditations that clean-out false beliefs help us create space and remove resistance.
Here are a few of the benefits of setting intentions by visualizing what we would like to create in our life:
- Focusing on areas in our life (relationship, career, home, money, health) long enough to get clear on what it is we are seeking to experience, aligns our energy with this vision, increasing our odds of attracting it!
- Knowing what we want and need allows us to see more clearly when we are making choices, or feeling obligated to do things that aren’t in alignment with our values.
- Being open to the form that our desires are fulfilled keeps us in gratitude.
- The present moment is the only one where we have power to influence our larger life experience.
Manifestation is all about the feelings we want to experience in our life. When we get clear on what we want to feel in a relationship, in our home or at work, the form those experiences take or “how” things manifest isn’t as important. Removing resistance, those beliefs that we allow to block us from having what we want, gives us more clarity. Life flows, it takes less effort, when we are clear and in alignment with our needs and wants.
The process of self-discovery is not a linear path. We become aware of an essential truth, something we are capable of, something we desire to hold in a prominent focus as we move forward in life and then somehow, often without even realizing it we get side tracked, thrown off course.
These meanderings in our process of living, feeling we’ve lost our Self for a while, aren’t for lack of setting intentions, making a commitment or willingness. The experiences always show up for a purpose. They are additional opportunities to get clear and hone-in on the pure vision of what we are creating with our lives. They may show us what we don’t want or they may show us more specifically what we do want. They definitly show us the areas where we are ready to grow.
Sometimes what we know we want is put on the back burner due to circumstances that feel out of our control, economic, family or other responsibilities. Other times it’s in response to a relationship or a group of people in our lives.
As an intuitive person the energies around us influence our feelings. What we manifest is rooted in our emotions toward something. So feelings are a critical factor in our creations. A partner or a social circle can work to awaken us in beautiful ways but can also pull us off track with their emotions or differing priorities.
When we feel another’s energy and respond to it, we are to varying degrees matching their vibration. I call this mirroring. Empathic intuition is one form of this. We sense the emotional energy and match it from the second chakra.
Without the conscious awareness of holding our own energy space we can get lost in mirroring through our empathy and not stay rooted in our Self. We make a better witness, and offer a sense of strength and grounding to others, when we have a clear awareness of what are our feelings versus the feelings of another. It is through mirroring or taking on the energy of our environment that we get thrown off course… if there really is such a thing… we are side tracked with an opportunity for new awareness.
To hold our course, the vision we want to create in our lives, we need to learn how to be present for others in a deeply feeling way while holding our presence for ourselves. We strengthen this ability by regularly meditating to refresh our sense of being grounded (first chakra), clear our energy field of energy that is not our own (sixth chakra) and call our energy back to fill us up.
There’s no need to be self-critical about the cycles of losing and finding our Self over and over again. Honestly, this process is what we are here for, to remember who we are at the very essence, heal, grow and to have experiences that help us see our truth more and more clearly each day.
